Every Option Works On The ZR1

Every option is working as it should - needs absolutely nothing but a new owner who appreciates this rare and highly desirable piece of Corvette history. This must be one of the finest example's available anywhere of this highly collectable investment in classic American muscle car history - an always garaged and original 6K miles example of the most desirable first year of production 1990 Corvette ZR-1 - once Chevy gave the base model 1991 Corvette a rounded rump and squared tail lamps - the ZR-1's main visual distinctions - demand suffered and therefore the 1990 ZR-1 enjoys added status over the later years of production (1990-95) as both the debut ZR1 and the only one with the most desirable original 1984 front-end styling! Chrome wheels are the only other available option on the ZR1. Below the skin, there are many changes, but thankfully the ZR1 is built on the same all-aluminum chassis as the Z06 The expanded performance envelope of the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 required changes to the dry sump system also used in the Z06. But the Z06 has a little edge to it that lets you know it would be much happier thundering down to turn five at Road America rather than navigating I-94 entrance ramps and grocery store parking lots. Aside from the aforementioned chrome wheels, the only other optional equipment is a premium interior package.

The performance is amazing, with the new 430 hp LS3 small-block V8 that's standard on Coupe and Convertible this year. Coil packs are identical to those used on the LS3. The number of available options on the new car is limited, in order to save as much weight as possible. Instead, the Corvette takes that power and refines it into a vehicle that does everything equally well.

Store ratings and product reviews are written and submitted by online shoppers to assist you as you shop. The new Corvette is constructed with each part justified by its contribution to overall performance. And to keep the Z06 svelte, engineers went with an aluminum frame-the permanently mounted roof halo is magnesium. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires developed specifically for the ZR1, measuring P285/30ZR19 in front and P335/25ZR20 in the rear.

Instead, the Corvette takes that power and refines it into a vehicle that does everything equally well. Make sure the dealers have at least two certified master techs specifically trained on all high performance Vettes from ZR1 to Z06 and others. There's more horsepower of course: 400 horses and 400 foot pounds of torque (up from 350 hp and 360 lb-ft) and an improved Tremec six-speed manual transmission with a new shift lever. The ring-and-pinion is shot-preened for durability.

The brakes are visible through the ZR1s exclusive wheels: 20-spoke alloy rims that measure 19 inches in diameter in the front and 20 inches in the rear. The hood window provides a look at the top of the engines intercooler and the exposed-weave carbon-fiber parts are found on the roof, rocker moldings and front splitter. The convertible top for the sixth-generation Corvette reflects great attention to detail to net improvements in aesthetics, aerodynamics and utility.

The new Corvette is lighter than its predecessor. There is even an air to liquid intercooler resting right on top to bring intake temps down 140 degrees F. Other exterior changes include distinctive, mesh-covered air intakes in the front spoiler and new side intakes just in front of the rear wheels.

The sense of speed is incredible, and even we got excited when the ZR1 climbed the banked oval and made other vehicles track testing that day look like stationary objects. The LS2 V-8 engine controlled by a six-speed manual gearbox or a paddle-shifted six-speed automatic. It is a decision to make the car perform better. The 2008 Corvette is an awesome car.

Loved by the auto enthusiasts the Corvette ZHZ performance exhaust system ensures the aggressive sound performance. Of course today's Corvette, an outright bargain when compared to sports cars from Europe, should be acknowledged as well. The C6 Corvette is a one mean Bow Tie, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved upon. 0 L LS2 V8 produces 400 hp at 6000 rpm and 400 lbf.
